Dubai, Oct. 18th, 2010 (WAM) -- Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park, today launched the DSO Technology Incubator, a first-of-its-kind technology initiative in the UAE. The incubator will support new start-ups and encourage entrepreneurs in the field of technology by stimulating the development of successful companies.
The unique Technology Incubator will aim to chart a new avenue for investment in technology in the Arab region. The Technology Incubator comes as part of DSOs hi-tech ecosystem and the six technology sectors that remain the focus of the technology free zone. Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Vice Chairman & CEO of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, said: "The new initiative reflects our main core to create a high-tech community that is able to integrate rapid technological developments into its operations. The technology incubator is designed to accelerate the successful development of entrepreneurial companies through an array of business support resources and services. Through the Technology Incubator, Dubai Silicon Oasis will create a suitable environment to encourage innovation and provide favourable opportunities for both entrepreneurs and owners of start-up technology projects. The Dubai Silicon Oasis Technology Incubator will provide services such as assistance with business basics, networking activities, marketing, accounting and financial management, as well as presentation skills. It will also offer links to higher education resources, strategic partners, comprehensive business training programs and access to angel investors or venture capitalists.
