CISCO KSA, the Saudi arm of the worldwide computer network giant, announced a new plan to train 30,000 Saudi students through its Cisco NetAcad training facility, last week in a statement. The plan is part of the academy's 10th anniversary celebrations.
NetAcad was the first Saudi educational institution of its kind to receive formal approval from the General Organization for Technical Education and Vocational Training (GOTEVOT) which it received in May 2000. "Today, we are celebrating the tenth anniversary of launching the Cisco Networking Academy Program worldwide, which effectively succeeded in achieving its objectives, notably qualifying the Saudi youth for the communications industry through arming them with the administrative and technical skills required for such industry which has become the nervous system of all economies around the world," said Badr Albadr, the company's general manager in the Kingdom.
