KUWAIT, July 1 (KUNA) -- First constituency candidate for municipal bi-elections, Salem Al-Qsiba, urged on Tuesday voters to take part in the scheduled polling on July 2, and give their trust for nominees who earn it.
Al-Qsiba told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that taking part in the municipal bi-elections is a constitutional right for the people to make their choice as to who is qualified to represent them and serve their needs at best.
He called for forming a joint committee that comprises Municipal Council, state-owned authorities and non-profit societies for setting priorities for vital projects that contribute in serving public interest.
Municipal executive body has called for dedicating attention to the country's cleanliness, utilizing modern equipment to protect the environment from pollution and establishing advanced recycling schemes for waste.
He clarified that the (Asema) Capital Governorate "is suffering from some fundamental problems and swift solutions such as exploiting unused land plots, tackling housing crisis and unemployment."
Al-Qsiba stressed on importance of the electronic use among main municipal authorities to speed up serving paper work for citizens.
The first constituency groups eight areas; Al-Sharq, Al-Dasma, Bnaid Al-Gar, Desman, Al-Mutaba, Al-Dayiaa, Al-Shaab, Failaka and all Islands, with 14,725 voters.
