Voltas a part of the Tata Group, has won a BD 40 million ($110 million) electro-mechanical contract for the Bahrain City Centre. It is among the biggest electro-mechanical projects ever undertaken in the Gulf state.

The work will involve more than 1,500 workers and will be completed in June 2008. This is the third major job being undertaken by Voltas in Bahrain.

The agreement is a part of the BD 200 million electricity infrastructure development project at the BCC. The agreement was signed by the Chief Executive and the Board Chairman Ceabraco, Khalid Abdulrahim and Regional Manager Voltas Shawkat Meer Ali at a ceremony.

Cebraco-WCT is a joint venture with 49 per cent WCT and 51 Cebraco.  Abdulrahim said that the signing was recognition of the company's expertise and experience in executing the highly specialised projects. "This is vote of confidence in our company's strength in this field and we will continue to grow."
