Thousands pay last respects
Thousands attended the funeral of Ali bin Yusuf Fakhro who died yesterday.
Several eminent persons paid glowing tribute to the architect of the Ali Fakhro business conglomerate in Bahrain. Fakhro was also chairman of the board of directors of the Bahrain Flour Mills Company and had presided over the annual general meeting of the company in March.
He was also instrumental in getting the full government support for the new BCCI premises in the Seef district which opens in a few months. Fakhro also led the board of the Bahrain Kuwait Insurance Company for many years and turned it into a profit-making entity even during the most turbulent business times in Bahrain. The business community views the demise of Fakhro as an irreparable loss.
During his tenure as the BCCI chairman, the membership of this only business community platform reached 12,000 making it Bahrain's leading chamber with so many members.
The business community will miss his visionary leadership and guidance.
