Abu Dhabi, Jul 19th, 2010 (WAM) -- The Abu Dhabi Police, in association with one of its cadets, has filed an application for the registration of international patent for a new wireless fire alarm system, which is designed to be a multi-use security apparatus to protect lives and property.
Head of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police and Director of the project for the 'Development of control rooms specialized for the management of accidents and crises' Lt. Col. Nasir Sulaiman Al-Maskery said that the Abu Dhabi Police is now working towards the introduction of a new fire alarm system that is invented for the first time in the world.
The device is sold in local markets after it was approved and registered at Industrial Property Directorate of the Ministry of Economy as an invention made in the UAE. The AD Police plans to market it worldwide after the successful completion of the international patent registration. The innovative device developed by Osama Ahmed Ismail, a communications technician at the Abu Dhabi Police, is linked to fire alarm systems at various locations and sends wireless signals to the control room at the civil defense central directorate. It can send data pinpointing the location of the fire thus enabling the operations room to mobilise the firefighters to the exact place of fire.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2010.
