Abu Dhabi, Jun 13th, 2010 (WAM)--Abu Dhabi Police have nabbed three Asians red handed with 10.5kg of hashish which was hidden in cartoons of mandarin fruit, apparently for trading, said Col. Hammad Ahmed Al Hammadi, director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Abu Dhabi Police.
He added that the police have recently managed to arrest the suspects, following an agreement with them to buy the drug shipment against AED960, 000. Col. Hammadi added that the suspects were trapped, filmed and arrested after obtaining a warrant from public prosecution. For his part, Lt. Col. Sultan Sawahyeh Al Darmeki, head of the anti narcotics section at the CID, Abu Dhabi, and general coordinator of the operation, knick named 'Yousifi', said that the section had been tipped off that an Afghani, a drug dealer, was looking for a buyer. The squad was set up to pose as buyers. Darmeki said after receiving a warrant from the public prosecution, the suspect, 27, identified as NA was arrested, while other two Pakistanis identified respectively as A.A.S. 22, and K.H.M., 31, were arrested separately red handed with the heroin hidden in mandarin fruits.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2010.
