KHOBAR, Saudi Arabia, April 30 (Reuters) - State-run Saudi Aramco has set its May contract price for propane at $385 a tonne, down from $430 in April, the company said in a statement on Sunday.

The price provides a benchmark against which Middle East sales of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to Asia are priced.

Saudi Aramco's contract prices for propane and butane per tonne in U.S. dollars were set as follows:

PRODUCT MAY APRIL CHANGE

Propane $385 $430 -$45

Butane $390 $490 -$100
