Emaar Properties PJSC on Sunday announced the launch of Dubai Hills Mall, a family retail district in the Dubai Hills Estate master development.

The regional mall will have a gross leasable area of over 2 million square feet and more than 750 retail outlets, including a cineplex, a 65,000 square feet hypermarket, seven anchor retail experience stores, and parking spaces for over 7,000 vehicles.

In a press statement, the developer said the mall, which will also have a dedicated link to the Dubai Metro, is expected to open in late 2019.

Dubai Hills Mall will serve neighbourhoods in Mohammed bin Rashid City and the catchment areas of Arabian Ranches and other nearby communities, the statement added.

Dubai Hills Estate, developed by Emaar in joint venture with Meraas, features a green area of over 23 million square feet that includes a championship golf course, a 1.9-million square feet central park, over 4,400 villas and townhouses, and 22,000 apartments.

Earlier this month, Reuters reported that Emaar Properties posted a 14.4 percent increase in second quarter profit, according to a bourse filing.

The report said the developer made a profit of 1.45 billion dirham ($394.8 million) attributable to the owners of the company for the three months to June 30, up from 1.27 billion dirhams in the year earlier period.
