DOHA: Qatar Fuel Company (Woqod) has awarded contracts worth QR100m for the construction of five new petrol stations which are to be located in Lihhdaira , Karaana, Aumthegaib, Busamra, and Messaieed.
The company had already awarded in August last year three contracts for the construction of three petrol stations to be located in Bufsseilah, Rawdat Alhamama and Meaither, and two for the construction of two technical inspection facilities to be located at Wadi Al-Banat and Messaimer.
Mohammad Turki Al Sobai, Woqod Vice Chairman and Managing Director said the company is preparing to award the third batch of construction contracts for ptrol stations at different locations in the State of Qatar in the forthcoming weeks. He added that Woqod will tender for the construction of new sites after coordination with concerned government agencies, taking into account the country's general planning for the development of facilities and infrastructure to meet the requirements of the football World Cup to hosted by Qatar in 2022.
