Dubai - Winston & Strawn LLP announced today the addition of Ben Bruton as partner and Nick Sharratt as of counsel to the firm’s Litigation Department, based in the Dubai office. Both join from Eversheds Sutherland LLP, where Ben was UAE managing partner and head of dispute resolution and Nick was a principal associate.

“We are delighted to welcome Ben and Nick to the firm,” said Tom Fitzgerald, Winston’s chairman. “With a strong background in dispute resolution across the Middle East and in London, their arrival continues the momentum we have created in strategically growing our Dubai office.”

“Ben is one of the most highly regarded dispute resolution lawyers in the Middle East and brings considerable international litigation experience in the Bahraini, Pakistani, and Indian Courts,” added Campbell Steedman, the firm’s Middle East managing partner. “Ben and Nick will add significant value as we continue to expand upon the strong business connections between Dubai and other global business hubs to better serve our clients.”

During his tenure as UAE Managing Partner at his prior firm, Ben led the development of the Dubai office from a 10-attorney practice to a 27-attorney practice over a three-year period earning recognitions such as Dispute Resolution Team of the Year at the Middle East Legal Week Awards and International Law Firm of the Year in both Legal Week and The Oath Awards. His practice involves high value arbitration and court proceedings in the UAE and internationally across a number of sectors including financial services, maritime, engineering, energy and infrastructure, real estate, and construction.

Nick’s practice is focused on cross-border litigation and regulatory work for corporate and commercial clients. He regularly procures advice from jurisdictions across the Middle East, Europe, and Africa and is recognized as a “Next Generation Lawyer” by Legal 500.

Ben and Nick’s appointments are the latest in a series of lateral hires for Winston’s rapidly expanding Dubai office, following the additions of Christopher Skipper in May 2017 and Campbell Steedman and Shibeer Ahmed in late 2016.
