Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) disclosed its plan to take delivery of its new planes during 2017 under its ongoing program to modernize and develop its fleet. The Saudia fleet will double to 200 new aircraft by 2020. Director General of Saudi Arabian Airlines Engineer Saleh Bin Nasser Al-Jasser said the current year will witness the entry of 30 new Saudia planes into service. 

These include 7 Boeing B787 Dreamliners, 5 B777-300ER planes provided with new suites for first class passengers and 10 A320ceo aircraft. Delivery of the first new regional Airbus A330-300 aircraft is scheduled to arrive at King Abdulaziz International Airport on Jan. 26. Al-Jasser said 2017 will witness the grounding of 18 of Saudia’s planes.
