JEDDAH — The holy city of Madinah will have a new university that will be inaugurated next Tuesday. Prince Mugrin Bin Abdulaziz University is to have three colleges: College of Engineering, Business Administration, and Computer Science in addition to the School of Hospitality, a college under construction. The university will introduce new unique disciplines such as computer forensics and information security with an aim to protect the Kingdom’s electronic security. The university also offers disciplines for females for the first time in Madinah such as architecture, engineering and interior design.

The university’s vision goes in line with the development plans and the Kingdom’s 2030 Vision.Through its colleges, the university will be offering a number of disciplines and quality programs in accordance with the highest academic accreditation and quality standards in an effort to graduate specialized cadres able to meet the needs of the labor market with a high degree of expertise, productivity skills and creativity that will enable them to lead the change and to compete globally. To ensure that the university’s programs are globally competitive, the new institution was keen to establish distinct contacts and associations with international universities such as Connecticut University, Boston University, Texas University, Illinois University, Michigan University, Manchester University, Leeds University, Minnesota University, Cardiff University and Dublin University.

The founders were keen to establish a non-profitable university through providing full and partial scholarships for outstanding and talented students according to the guidelines of academic and scientific excellence.

The university has an integrated staff in an unrelenting scientific movement intended to serve the Islamic nation, the homeland and society as one of the edifices of science and knowledge in the Kingdom.

The university will be inaugurated by Prince Mugrin Bin Abdulaziz, the honorary chairman of the University General Assembly and Council and chairman of Board of Directors of Al-Bayan Charitable Association in presence of Madinah Emir Prince Faisal Bin Salman and a number of princes, minister of education and several dignitaries from government and civil departments.
