The flow of foreign investment slipped 6.9% to 1, 923.0 MTD in the first eleven months of 2016 in comparison with last year, the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) said in its latest report. Foreign direct investments, up 9.3%, stand at

1,863.4 MTD while portfolio investments, posting a decline of 83.5%, reached 59.6 MTD.

The sectoral breakdown of investments shows energy investment is stagnating at 890.3 MTD while industrial investments edged up 54.7% to 779.2 MTD. Meanwhile, investment in services dropped 42.5% to 173 MTD.

Foreign investments in agriculture rose 123. 4%, climbing from 9.3 MTD by late November 2015 to 20.8 MTD in 2016.
