Cairo governorate has delivered 5,700 housing units among its plan to develop unsafe slums in 2016 and provide suitable homes for special needs and newlyweds, Governor Atef Abdel Hamid said Sunday.

The Egyptian official confirmed that the governorate is working on its plans to provide housing units for beneficiaries including special needs, newlyweds, and slum-dwellers.

Abdel Hamid added that the governorate relocated about 930 unsafe slum-dwellers form Al-Doweiqa to Al Asmarat City as well as 330 slum-dwellers form Tel Al-Aqareb area to 6th of October until finishing the developmental works at Tel Al-Aqareb project.
