Sharjah: Al Noor Island, Sharjah’s architectural and natural wonder nestled in the Khalid Lagoon, is set to keep families busy through the months of September and October with creativity-inspiring and entertaining art, craft and food decoration workshops.

The ‘Get Crafty’ activity comprising three workshops is designed for children and teenagers to spend quality time at Al Noor Island, interact with peers and let their imaginations run on a roll. The fourth workshop, ‘Cupcake Decoration’ is suitable for visitors of all age groups.

Mahmoud Rashid Al Suwaidi, General Manager of Al Noor Island, said: “We seek to inspire our visitors’ creativity and enhance their life skills, as they enjoy the magnificent natural surroundings of the island.  The Sept–Oct workshops are in line with the plethora of artistic and edutainment activities we organise throughout the year. The UAE community loves the Al Noor Island’s unique offerings – we just make sure we keep adding to the destination’s charm with new activities and attractions.”

Get Crafty

The Get Crafty activity represents a collection of three exciting crafts workshops, namely Origami, Shell Craft, and Paper Craft. All workshops will be guided by expert educational and artistic teams who work on sharpening children’s’ creative abilities, cognitive skills and intellectual capabilities. The Get Crafty activity is suitable for participants in the 3 – 15 years age group. 

Origami

children’s workshop, this one teaches the elegant, centuries-old Japanese art of paper folding. Participants get to explore their creativity in the process of creating objects by shaping paper and other materials in line with the nature and art theme of the island.

Shell Craft

Attendees of this workshop will make decorative and artwork objects using colourful seashells. The value of recycling materials will be conveyed in this fun workshop. 

Paper Craft

The Paper Craft workshop will get participants to make collections of two- and three-dimensional objects with paper. They will learn to imagine beautiful objects and how to make them professionally using paper.

Cupcake Decoration

A must-attend for bakers, culinary artists and dessert lovers, this exciting workshop teach participants the art of decorating up to 5 delicious cupcake using whipping cream, mini candy bars, and other trimmings that will be provided by Noor Café.

Other activities

In addition to these activities, Al Noor Island will also offer several recreational packages and guided tours customised to enlighten visitors of all age groups. Al Noor Island is open to visitors from 09:00am to 11:00 pm on weekdays and to midnight on weekends, while the Butterfly House is open from 09:00am to 06:00pm every day.
