Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that the number of commercial activities in the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman registered during the first quarter of 2019 reached to 225,917.


The department of statistics of the ministry said that the movement of commercial activities during the first quarter of 2019 was concentrated in Muscat governorate. It had 36.7 per cent of the total volume of commercial activity in the Sultanate. It is followed by the North Al Batinah governorate with 14.7 per cent, then Dhofar governorate with 14.1 per cent. The remaining activities are distributed in rest of the governorates.

The number of commercial activities registered during the first quarter of this year in the Muscat governorate was 82,801, followed by the North Al Batinah governorate which had 33,138. The Dhofar governorate was on third position with the registration of 31,933 activities during this period.

Al Dakhiliya governorate was on fourth position with 17,743 activities and North Al Sharqiyah on fifth position with 13,516 activities. The South Al Batinah governorate was sixth with the registration of 13,214 activities, and South Al Sharqiyah was seventh with 13,212 activities. Al Buraimi registered 7,834, Al Dhahirah 7,044, Al Wusta 3,046 and Musandam registered 2,436 activities during the first quarter of this year.
