Dubai: The COVID 19 pandemic has shaken developed and developing economies around the world. During these troubling times in the financial world, AlHuda Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics will be organizing the 7th African Islamic Finance Summit. The event is an apex East Africa finance event which has been successfully organized 6 times by AlHuda CIBE over the last 7 years. The 7th edition is being organized after a year-long gap in consideration of troubling times for countries globally. The event will be organized at Hyatt Regency, Dar-es-Salam, Tanzania on 8th July, 2021 and will be followed by Post Event Workshops on Operational Aspects of Islamic Banking and Takaful on 9th – 10th July, 2021.

It is truly an honor to host His Excellency Dr. Hussein Ally Mwinyi, President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, said Mr. Zubair Mughal, Chief Executive Officer AlHuda CIBE. Mr. Zubair Mughal further stated that he is humbled that the President of Zanzibar will grace the 7th edition of this event, just as his father Mr. Ali Hassan Mwinyi, former President Tanzania graced the 1st African Islamic Finance Summit. He also praised His Excellency Mr. Ayman Sejiny, Chief Executive Officer, Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), for his unflinching support for this event. He will be joining the Summit as Guest of Honor.

 The banking and finance industry of Tanzania as well as neighboring African countries will also be actively participating to gain ample knowledge of the Islamic financial sector and discuss solutions to the escalating problems of the economy. Policymaking for Islamic Finance, industry development, regulatory framework, and regulations, will be the main objectives of the summit. It will also  include recognizing significant developments in Islamic Financial Infrastructure of Africa, linkages of African Islamic Finance industry with the international financial market, demonstration of the flexibility of Islamic Financial markets during the recent financial crisis, share the best practices of the international Islamic banking market with African Islamic finance Industry, assessing innovations in Islamic financial markets through the growth of newly developed research-based products etc.

COVID should not be allowed to halt or hamper the development and growth of the Islamic Finance Industry any further so that the market and economy may undergo significant and sustainable growth, said Mr. Zubair Mughal while enunciating the importance of the summit. Elaborating further, he commented that this summit aims to encourage Islamic Banking and Finance experts, market players, institutions, regulators, market players, etc. to keep up their valiant and commendable efforts for the better future of the Islamic Economies globally. More than 20 international speakers will give their valuable contribution and insight into a variety of topics of discussion. These speakers include notable personalities from around the world who have experience and expertise in a wide array of Islamic Finance fields.
