The Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has launched a tender to transport crude oil by road from the loading site in Iraq to the Jordanian Petroleum Refinery site in Zarqa at a rate of 10,000 barrels per day, an Iraqi government official said.

The official, who declined to be named, said Jordan would be supplied by oil at a discounted price since it would bear the cost of transport.

The Ministry has set the deadline for obtaining a copy of the bidding documents and submitting inquiries on 27 May and the deadline for submitting bids is on the third week of June.

Jordan's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is responsible for transporting crude oil from Iraq to the refinery in Zarqa, according to the memorandum of understanding signed between the Jordanian and Iraqi sides.
