RIYADH — Cayan Group, the developer behind one of the most luxurious and distinctive projects in Riyadh “AlJawhara” in alliance with King Saud University, has announced the launch of a design competition for King Saud University- College of Architecture and Planning students. The winnings entrant’s designs will be considered as concepts for the project.

As part of its efforts to engage young talent from within the Kingdom, Cayan Group is inviting King Saud University’s brightest architecture students to submit designs for three different types of development to be placed within a state-of-the-art experience center located at AlJawhara project.

With project development progressing, we want to ensure that Saudi Arabia’s youngest and brightest talents differentiate themselves by playing a role in shaping the design of the destination.” Commented Dr. Muath AlMajed- Executive committee member at Cayan Group.

“As we launch this competition in alliance with Cayan Group, we are excited to provide a unique platform for our students creative young designers to contribute their expertise to this project.” Said Dr. Abdulaziz Aldegheishem – Dean of the College of Architecture and Planning at KSU.

Final year Students from King Saud University- College of Architecture and Planning are being invited to propose eco-friendly designs and architectural renderings that can help in shaping the development and complement the area’s natural environment.

With competition winners set to be selected in December 2020, the winning designers will have the opportunity to show case their work within the experience center at the development which will be exposed to the investors and owners within the development to have the opportunity to select any of the design and make it come to life. This competition is one of several initiatives already launched by Cayan Group to create opportunities for Saudi talent.

“AlJawhara” is located on a plot area of 1.5 million m2. It consists of different land uses: residential and commercial. The project is strategically located on Turki Al Awwal and Al Ouroba, in the center of Riyadh.
