Muscat- OITE Trade Fairs has confirmed that the 26th Edition of COMEX previously scheduled to take place at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC), will now take place at the Oman International Exhibition Centre from 12-16 April 2016.

"The last edition of COMEX attracted more than 120,000 participants over a steady course of 5 days, which was the highest figure ever recorded in the 25 years of the show's history. This proves that the ICT sector, which is growing at a steady pace in Oman, has a lot of potential within both the country's public & private sectors" says Mr. Tarek Ali, General Manager- Exhibitions, OITE.

Although Oman's economy is still heavily reliant on oil with the oil and gas sector representing 75%of total revenues, non-oil revenues are expected to grow marginally from OMR1.5bn in 2015 to OMR 2.45bn this year, as the 2016 budget focusses on increasing the contribution of non-oil revenue. In reducing dependency on the oil & gas industry, as companies from the public & private sector step up cost-effective measures for their business practices COMEX this year will go one step further to offer solutions that aim to minimize cost & maximize productivity for companies from industries related to transport infrastructure, education, warehousing, oil & gas and related sectors.

"COMEX 2016 has already received international participation from countries including UAE, Iran, India and USA. Keeping in line with the government's initiative to connect all homes and businesses to the national broadband network by 2040, COMEX 2016 will also have a dedicated pavilion for FTTH Broadband Companies to discuss strategies that will spearhead Oman's ICT infrastructure development" says Mr. Ashit Barnes, Exhibition Director- OITE Trade Fairs.

Other value-added features at COMEX includes the COMEX B2B Matchmaking platform which will organize tailor made business meetings between potential customers and the Government with exhibitors, the COMEX Conference which will invite dialogue between key dignitaries from the government, private sector & industry experts, the COMEX Seminars which will provide opportunities for sponsors and exhibitors to deliver presentations on their products or services & the COMEX Demo Zone where exhibitors will be given an opportunity to demonstrate or talk about their products and solutions.
