Abu Dhabi, UAE – In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The St. Regis Abu Dhabi, The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort and Al Wathba, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa have launched a number of charitable initiatives as part of Abu Dhabi Luxury Collection Hotels and Resorts PINKtober campaign.

Encouraging guests and hosts to contribute towards breast cancer research whilst savouring an elegant and sumptuous sweet treat, the three iconic destinations are aiming to raise much-needed funds for the global healthcare charity Al Jalila Foundation. Dedicated to providing vital medical treatment for those who are unable to afford quality healthcare, scholarships designed to empower the region’s future medical professionals and research into treatments for diseases such as cancer, diabetes and obesity, the organisation offers a vital and much-needed service.

The expert pastry chefs across the three luxury hotels have created a series of unique and delicious desserts just for PINKtober. Every dirham raised through the sales of them will go directly towards supporting the work of Al Jalila Foundation.

At The St. Regis Abu Dhabi, guests can savour two different PINKtober desserts at Villa Toscana and Catch at St. Regis. Warm, inviting and specialising in authentic Italian dishes, Villa Toscana is presenting the ‘The Pink Pear’ recipe, featuring a smooth chocolate hazelnut casing, filled with the fabulous flavours of toasted hazelnut, guanaja ganache and poached pears. Catch at St. Regis, the picturesque seafood hotspot, has launched the decadent ‘La Vie En Rose’, combining a slice of rich and creamy cheesecake with vibrant red berry confit and tasty yuzu strawberry sorbet.

Over at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, the tantalising ‘Pink Surprise’ dessert, crafted out of yuzu caviar, sour cherry compote, pistachio frangipane and creamy frozen yogurt, can be enjoyed at the capital’s most chic and stylish beach bar, Buddha-Bar Beach Abu Dhabi, and Sontaya Restaurant.

Last but certainly not least, Terra Secca at Al Wathba, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa has focused all its efforts into creating one delectable treat. The ‘Pink Texture’ fuses the spectacular tastes of almond frangipane, raspberry curd, an airy mascarpone, crispy meringue and rhubarb strawberry gelato.

The charitable support is continued behind the scenes of this luxury group. As part of Marriott’s Sustainability & Social Impact Platform Serve 360, the human resources teams at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort and Al Wathba, Desert Resort and Spa are selling Breast Cancer Awareness-themed ice creams, including a pink mask and ribbons, in the hosts cafeteria. Again, all the proceeds from this activity will go directly to Al Jalila Foundation.

The St. Regis Abu Dhabi is also encouraging its female hosts to prioritise their own wellbeing by offering free breast cancer check-ups, health talks and subsidised entry to the 10th Annual ADCB Zayed Sports PinkRun 5km, with the hotel contributing 50% of the cost for each employee. By joining forces with Aloft Abu Dhabi, team members can further their contribution by collecting used clothing, toys and books to be included in the Pinktober Donation Boxes.

The PINKtober dishes are available to purchase from now until October 31, with prices starting from AED 55 to AED 65.
