United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi: Through its vivid rare photos and footage of the rich history of the UAE, the “Year of 50” zone at the Sheikh Zayed Festival sheds light on the comprehensive development and revolution of the UAE from the time it was founded to the present day. Through its three sections, the zone highlights the achievements of the nation since its establishment and the great role played by the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in developing the country to become what it has today. Additionally, the zone features a glimpse of the future projects of the UAE and its most prominent milestones.
Under the supervision and management of the National Archives and with the sponsorship of First Abu Dhabi Bank, the zone features 10 columns, each of which represents one of the 10 forts of the country, alongside 16 displays showing the late Sheikh Zayed's most prominent visits and the most important internal and external agreements that paved the way for progress and success of the country. This fascinating zone also features various videos highlighting the role of the late Sheikh Zayed in agriculture, women empowerment, education, sports and health, and much more information about the founding of the UAE.
The zone aims to inspire future generations and motivate them to innovate, create and develop, especially in light of the UAE’s outstanding technological and cultural reputation today.
With an abundance of content, the zone focuses on the progress the country has witnessed over the past 50 years, while adhering to and preserving authentic Emirati customs, traditions, and the rich heritage values deeply woven in the Emirati people.
In just 50 years, the United Arab Emirates has outperformed many countries all around the world in various fields, and the "Year of 50” zone at the Sheikh Zayed Festival will introduce visitors to the UAE’s milestones and the achievements that have reached all the way to Mars.
