Dubai, UAE: As AEEDC, the region’s premier event for the dental industry concludes today, the Italian pavilion, one of the largest country pavilions at the show, welcomed record number of visitors. Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and The Italian Dental Industries Association (UNIDI) brought together 26 leading Italian companies that displayed a wide range of solutions such as robotics, laser systems, 3D scanners and 3D printers.

Visitors were introduced to the latest medical imaging software and computer guided surgery procedures for the dental and maxillofacial fields, dental vacuum pumps, orthopaedic prosthetics, dental implants, and new CAD/CAM solutions to improve the quality of the performance and operative efficiency of dental labs. Also, on display were dental whitening solutions and uniforms for clinic staff in unique Italian style. Many of the participating Italian companies have been in business for three to four generations.

According to Gianpaolo Bruno, Trade Commissioner to the UAE, Oman and Pakistan, ITA: “The 26 companies exhibiting at the Italian pavilion provide a diverse range of solutions for the dental industry. Italian dental companies are known for high quality materials as well as excellent design due to strong investments in research and development. The total value of imports to the UAE of equipment and consumable for the dental industry is currently worth more than 500 million euros of which Italy’s share is more than 4 per cent. Italian software, surgical instruments, implantology, orthodontic manufacturing and anesthetics are of great demand in the market. AEEDC provides Italian dental companies the perfect platform to demonstrate products, raise brand awareness and engage with potential customers.”

Within the first 10 months of 2018, Italy was ranked as the seventh largest supplier of dental hygiene care products in the UAE, with a market share of 4%. During the same period Italy became the topmost supplier of sterilizing machines to the UAE, with a market share of 44.5% in a market with an overall value of about 5.2 million Euros and achieving a total growth of 62.8% compared to 2017. Italy is also the sixth largest trading partner for dental implants in the UAE and leading supplier of dental drills in the UAE, strengthening its position with a market share of 46.4% and a 10% growth in sales last year. In the supply of X-rays machines, Italy is the fourth supplier in the UAE, with a 20% growth in sales in 2018 compared to previous year.

The Italian pavilion is located at stands 4A07 – 4C21 at Hall 4 in DWTC till February 07,2019.
