The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Attracts the Internationally Renowned Executive Chef Christian Knerr from Harrods, London.
Manama, Bahrain – The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain is pleased to announce the appointment of Chef Christian Knerr as the new Executive Chef for the hotel who joined the team earlier this month.
Christian is a German national and has joined The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain from the world-renowned Harrods London, where he served as the Executive Chef of the entire mall culinary operations.
Prior to Harrods, Christian brings with him an array of international experience from Manila, Bali, Dubai, London, Hamburg, Gstaad (Switzerland) and Kitzbuehel (Austria), Djerba (Tunisia), Marmaris (Turkey) and Aachen (Germany) Among his profile, Christian was the Executive Chef at the pre-opening phase of the InterContinental Hotels Group in Dubai Festival City. He also was the Executive Chef of the pre-opening team at the Fairmont Raffles Hotel in Manila in 2013 before joining Harrods.
Christian was first exposed to the culinary world from the age of 16 through an internship training program in Reit im Winkl in Germany, all while his banker father was molding him to also become a banker. His successful culinary career record was inevitable from the natural passion he has for cooking and his aptitude for culinary expertise. Shortly after completing his training, Christian moved to Switzerland to launch his career in a fine dining restaurant Le Grand Chalet followed by an experience on board of a large cruise liner.
Christian is settled in Bahrain by the company of his wife and two children, and has been instrumental in the hotel’s culinary offerings and the Ramadan menu. He stated, “After the wonderful experience I had in Harrods, I realized that my career passion sits in the hotel industry, and I am pleased to be joining one of the flagship properties of the Ritz-Carlton portfolio, and I am very keen on taking this success to the next level by working closely with the team and taking ownership in continuing to instill the culture of excellence at The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain.”
