Muscat: A haul of more than 300 kg of Kingfish has been seized by a fish control team in the wilayat of Masirah for illegal fishing.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources said in a statement: "The fish control team in Al Wusta Governorate managed to seize 345 kilograms of kingfish in the wilayat of Masirah as they were caught outside the season. Legal procedures against the violators are being completed."
"In order to protect the kingfish stocks, the ban on fishing and handling of kingfish continues until October 15."
