Cairo –  The Chairman of the Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority, Mohamed Omran, said that insurance companies acquiring 71% of medical insurance customers in the market provided complete coverage for the treatment of coronavirus (COVID-19) patients.

The FRA might provide insurance coverage for the remaining 29% of medical insurance customers whose insurance policies don’t cover the pandemic viruses, Omran added in an event on Sunday.

Medical insurance premiums grew by 200% to EGP 5.7 billion at the end of June 2019, compared to EGP 1.9 billion at the end of June 2015, he revealed.
