MENA's leading digital healthcare platform expands to Levant, starting with Jordan

03 April, 2017, Cairo, Egypt

Vezeeta.com, the MENA leader in digital healthcare solutions, today announced its expansion plan into the Levant states, further positioning itself as the number one booking platform in the region. The expansion is kicking off this month with the launch of Vezeeta’s services in Jordan followed by Lebanon, connecting thousands of patients to healthcare practitioners through fast, around the clock online appointment booking.

As of now, patients in Jordan can use Vezeeta to book an appointment via the mobile app and the website to access practitioners in a number of varying specializations all around the country. The technology is transforming the healthcare industry by reducing the problem of long and tedious waiting lines at clinics, listing comprehensive clinic and doctor information on the platform and allowing patients to review and rate their experiences. Healthcare practitioners will also benefit from Vezeeta Care – the doctors’ leading practice management software that aligns and manages clinics’ schedules and medical records efficiently to create unprecedented patient healthcare experiences.

The success of Vezeeta’s technology comes from its unique ability to address real, major problems faced by patients when trying to access doctors in the region. In just two years, Vezeeta has grown to cover 5 Egyptian governorates, with over 3,500 subscribed doctors and a platform today generating over 60,000 monthly bookings. Leading the expansion into Jordan and Lebanon is Rami Adwan – a great strategic leader – who has been appointed as the region’s General Manager.

“We believe that it all starts with our talent and each country’s leadership,” commented Amir Barsoum, Co-founder and CEO. “Employee empowerment and ownership are the keys behind our success story. We started off with 4 employees and today we have reached 150 and counting as we continue to grow and expand regionally. Appointing Rami speaks miles about where Vezeeta is going today and its potential in the region” added Amir. “We are excited to have such a great leader leading Levant.”

Rami was the CEO for Electronic Health Solutions – Hakeem, the first national initiative to automate the public healthcare sector in Jordan and comes with extensive digital healthcare experience that will accelerate Vezeeta’s expansion in Levant.

"I am thrilled to join Vezeeta and be part of the team transforming the healthcare industry” commented Rami Adwan, General Manager for Levant. “Vezeeta is a game changer that empowers patients and physicians through a marketplace for medical bookings. Patients, assisted by other patients' feedback, book appointments with physicians who best meet their needs. Equally, physicians, use Vezeeta to maintain a lasting and ongoing care plan with their patients providing them with relevant medical information and follow up appointments. We are building on Vezeeta's success in Egypt and plan to expand in the Jordanian and Lebanese markets as of Q2 2017. The two markets have a joint size of around 32,000 doctors serving a population of over 14 million with around 50% of the market in Jordan and 80% in Lebanon being served by private physicians. Vezeeta brings a market place that allows patients to make educated choices and gives doctors the tools to build lasting relations with patients."

Vezeeta is revolutionizing the healthcare industry by creating a new digital healthcare era in the Middle East and North Africa.
