Sharjah, February 28, 2015--Leading international publishing and research firm The Business Year (TBY) has recently appointed Tjacco Timmerman as Country Editor for The Business Year: Sharjah 2015. This annual publication, which is being developed in collaboration with the Sharjah Economic Development Department, will highlight the successful diversification of Sharjah's economy and showcase investment opportunities in the Emirate.

Having successfully completed The Business Year: Nigeria 2015 after months of in-country research in Africa's biggest economy, Timmerman will be responsible for directing TBY's research on Sharjah's economy. He and his team will carry out this research by conducting interviews with the main executives in each sector of the economy, as well as analyzing macroeconomic trends in the Emirate.

In a reaction to his appointment, Timmerman stated "to be looking forward to researching Sharjah's diversified economy, which offers significant opportunities for investment. As Sharjah is set to expand on its double-digit economic growth of 2014, TBY's research in the Emirate comes at a perfect time."

The Business Year: Sharjah 2015 will be an annual edition that will feature interviews with key decision makers from both Sharjah's public and private sectors. Featuring chapters on diplomacy, economy, finance, energy, real estate and construction, transport, health and education, agriculture, and tourism, the issue will be the most comprehensive English-language publication on the economy of Sharjah to date. With a circulation of 97,700 printed copies, the publication will be distributed extensively both globally and domestically.
