The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, constructed by Qatar-based UrbaCon Trading & Contracting Company, has been named the Middle East’s smartest hotel building.

The award has been given by Honeywell Smart Building Score™ which evaluates buildings and technologies in the world against three key outcomes, which indicate smartness of a building: Green, Safe & Productive. 

UrbaCon's CEO Moataz Al Khayyat, said: "It was a great pleasure for us that DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel received this award as the smartest building in Qatar and the Middle East." 

"This award recognizes the high standards considered by our company during the building and developing work of DoubleTree by Hilton in Doha and these standards are the green, safe and productive building," said Al Khayyat. 

"More awards mean more work and challenge for us and we are ready to achieve more projects on time in Qatar and the Gulf countries," he stated.
UrbaCon Trading & Contracting has been involved in several huge projects over the last few years and has become one of the most respected building contractors in Qatar. In addition to the Mall of Qatar, included among its projects are the Banana Island Resort, the Sheraton Doha Hotel and Convention Center, and the Lekhwiya Stadium at Al Duhail.UrbaCon is one of several companies owned by Mr. Al-Khayat. These companies include general contracting, commercial and residential developments, building materials, various trading companies, hospitals and restaurants with operations in the Middle East.
