Muscat: Oman International Hospital was officially opened to provide its services in the healthcare sector to citizens and residents of the Sultanate of Oman.

Oman News Agency said: "The project is a joint investment between the Oman Investment Authority, the Brunei Investment Corporation, the Suhail Bahwan Group, and the Portuguese company, Ideal Med GHS."

The hospital consists of 4 main centres: the mother and child centre, the eye care centre, the heart care centre, the orthopedic and spine centre, in addition to a group of specialised centres and laboratories.

The hospital includes more than 100 beds, distributed among patients in the wards, the critical care unit, the intensive care unit, the special child care unit, and the pediatric intensive care unit. It also includes 41 medical consultation offices, 73 rooms for observation, treatment and examinations, five operating rooms and four delivery rooms, four laboratories, emergency units, radiology, research and development.
