DOHA, 20 April, 2017

The annual Middle East Forum supports the worldwide movement to improve quality and safety in healthcare and will host healthcare improvement experts and innovators from around the globe during the three day conference from May 5 to 7 2017.

The Ministry of Public Health, Primary Health Care Corporation, Sidra Medical and Research Center, World Innovation Summit for Health, and Qatar Biobank will be participating in this year’s event, showcasing their own programs and initiatives designed to raise quality and safety standards in Qatar.

“We look forward to sharing our work and that of our partners on this international stage designed to promote learning from others who are also involved in actively shaping the future of healthcare improvement,” said Mr. Nasser Al Noaimi, Deputy Chief Quality Officer and Director of the Center for Patient Experience and Staff Engagement at HMC.

The Knowledge Zone is another key attraction that is a regular feature at this event; it is an exhibition area featuring partner exhibition booths, interactive and entertaining learning activities and the highly popular quality improvement poster exhibition.

Mr. Ali Al Khater, Chief Communications Officer at Hamad Medical Corporation explained: “The value of this event is not just the academic segment but also the informal networking and fun learning opportunities that are offered through the Knowledge Zone exhibition area.

“What makes this event so special is that it brings international best practice and standards to a local arena, allowing many healthcare professionals, who might not be able to travel overseas, to attend an international conference of this caliber,” he added.

This event has been approved as a category 1 learning activity as per the criteria set out by Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners, which is responsible for regulating all healthcare practitioners working in both the government and private healthcare sector in the state of Qatar. Doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals attending the Middle East Forum are eligible to earn up to 14.5 continuing professional development (CPD) credit hours, which are recognized internationally.

Prospective participants can visit www.ihimeforum.hamad.qa for more information on conference sessions. In addition to the online registration site, the event organizers have arranged registration and payment centers located in various HMC hospitals. A convenient payment and registration center will also open shortly inside Bayt Al Dhiyafah, located in Hamad bin Khalifa Medical City. Further details are available on the website.
