Dubai - Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Dubai Health Authority, H.E. Dr. Rashid Ahmad Bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, inaugurated today the 15thDubai World Dermatology and Laser Conference and Exhibition (Dubai Derma 2015)at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre accompanied by a number ofofficials, heads of delegations, and key world dermatologists and specialists in the field.

Following the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, H.E. Dr. Rashid Ahmad Bin Fahadtoured the exhibition area, and visited a number of local and international companies that came todisplay their latest industrial products, skin care products, and equipment that help in diagnosing and treating skin diseases, and are used in plastic surgery.

And following his tour,H.E. Dr. Rashid Ahmad Bin Fahadcommented on Dubai Derma saying: "Being one of the largest conferences and exhibitions in the field of laser and dermatology, Dubai Derma today confirms the strength of the exhibition industry in the UAE in general and in Dubai in particular. We can see this year an increase in the number of exhibitors and an increase in the size of the exhibition, which has reached 25% compared to last year. During my tour today in Dubai Derma, I witnessed the participation of several national and international specialists, which reflect the importance of this industry as well as the support of the UAE government for the health sector and its willingness to promote the medical tourism industry in the UAE."

On the sidelines of the opening ceremony, Dr. Ibrahim Galadari, Professor of Dermatology at the UAE University, and Conference Chairman of Dubai Derma welcomed all of the reputable speakers and specialists who came from all over the world to participate in Dubai Derma. He also announced that this edition of Dubai Derma was privilegedto play host for 110 prominent speakers coming from 60 countries from America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East who are professors and specialistsin different fields of dermatology. 

Dr. Galadari added: "We are very pleased this year with the sheer amount of participations we witnessed from specialists and doctors in the field of phototherapy, laser, and cosmetic surgeries. This year, Dubai Derma's conference agenda will cover the new treatments for the cases of psoriasis and we will focus on the allergic reactions and different types of allergies that most dermatologists face."

From his side, Dr. Oumeish Oumeish, Secretary General of Dubai Derma and International Academy of Medical Specialisationsaid in his speech at the opening ceremony: "As we are celebrating the 15th edition of Dubai Derma this year, we made sure to organise industry-leading workshops and seminars to promote continuing medical education, strengthen scientific cooperation, and promote exchange of current knowledge and research work among physicians in the Arab world and other countries."

Dr. Oumeish also encouraged all the participants and attendees to vote for Dubai to host the 2th World Congress of Dermatology (WCD) in 2019. He said: "Dubai is nominated to host the WCDin 2019. The WCD is organised every four years, and it will be held in this year in Vancouver - Canada. So I encourage everyone to vote for Dubai to host the WCD in 2019. Dubai is best suited to host the event as it is positioned in the heart of one of the world's rapidly advancing regions and has a great selection of world class hotels, restaurants, resorts and shopping centres, it also has an excellent infrastructure and has large selections of auditoriums for conferences and exhibitions. We should also mention the fascinating heritage, culture and a civilizedcosmopolitan community. So let us all vote for Dubai to host this significant event."

From his side, Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Chairman of Dubai Derma said: "Dubai Derma came into inception with the idea of forging a small gathering for dermatologists and cosmetic companies; where they could meet and develop their businesses. We put our dedicated efforts to nourish this gathering, until it became one of the largest and most advanced conferences in the MENA Region focusing on skin care, which attracted the most specialized dermatologists from all over the world."

Therefore, dermatology companies strive every year to display their most updated inventions, cosmetics and equipment that help in diagnosing and treating skin diseases and problems with an advancing focus on plastic surgery. This year we have more than 375 different companies showcasing the latest cosmetics, products and machines for three days."

Dubai Derma 2015 will continue until 9th of April, and it is held in cooperation with the International Academy of Medical Specialisation, GCC League of Dermatology and the Pan Arab League of Dermatology, and supported by the Dubai Health Authority. The event is organised annually by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions - member of INDEX Holding.
