Al-Ablani: Despite the pandemic, NBK maintains its historical role as the top national labor employer in the private sector

As part of its continuous support to fresh graduates students to navigate their career, National bank of Kuwait (NBK) participated as a platinum sponsor in the career fair held by the Australian College of Kuwait (ACK) on May 26th and 27th, with the aim of encouraging students to engage in the work market and communicate directly with employers.

Due the prevailing circumstances posed by the coronavirus pandemic, the fair was organized this year through a digital platform allowing easy communication and interviews with graduates with a view to maximize benefits and enrich graduates and students with an abundance of job opportunities.

On this occasion, Mr. Emad Al-Ablani, General Manager of Group Human Resources at National Bank of Kuwait said: “NBK’s participation in this event held virtually this year due to the pandemic, is a key opportunity for fresh graduates to get acquainted with suitable job opportunities that satisfy their expectations and ambitions. It also represents an important platform for the bank to closely identify competent and talented national cadres to solicit to its professional system.”

NBK is a key supporter of all initiatives and events stimulating the energies of the national workforce of ambitious Kuwaiti youth, as part of its endeavors to spread the culture of work in the private sector among Kuwaiti youth and attract qualified individuals to the banking sector, he added.

Al-Ablani noted that NBK Group Human Resources employees, through the digital platform, conducted interviews and responded to all inquiries raised by fresh graduates who completed recruitment applications for open vacancies, as part of the bank’s care to encourage these graduates to join the banking sector, which plays an instrumental role in developing the national economy.

NBK boasts being the top national labor employer in the private sector by 73.8%, indicating that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the bank maintained its historical role and social responsibility by recruiting and attracting national talents, with over 357 new young Kuwaiti recruits during 2020 and 2021, he added.

Al-Ablani explained that the selection of human cadres for recruitment in the bank’s different departments is based on their qualifications and according to their capabilities, in order to maximize the return and benefit from the energies of those young talents.

NBK is committed to provide training programs for young Kuwaiti fresh graduates and students, to equip them with the expertise, professional knowledge, and on-job training, as professional preparation for them to navigate the labor market, manifesting NBK’s role as one of the leading local private sector institutions in supporting the youth.

NBK’s efforts in soliciting national talents go in line with its development and training plans aimed to invest in national cadres and prepare a promising banking generation. The bank is also keen to offer a series of training courses and professional academic programs, being one of the leading banking institutions in Kuwait in organizing training programs for youth.
