ABU DHABI- Abu Dhabi Airport will offer high-quality services to passengers covering various areas including customs declaration, baggage check-in and smart gates, among others after five government entities signed a cooperation agreement.

The Memorandum of Cooperation, MoC, was signed between Abu Dhabi Airports, Etihad Airways, General Administration of Customs, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship and Abu Dhabi Police.

H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Department of Transport, was present during the signing. Major General Maktoum Ali Al Sharifi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Police signed the MoC, along with Rashed bin Lahej Al Mansoori, Director-General of the General Administration of Customs, Brigadier Saeed Rakan Al Rashidi, Acting Director-General of Foreigners Affairs and Ports at the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Mohammad Al Bulooki, Etihad Airways Chief Operating Officer, and Bryan Thompson, Abu Dhabi Airports Chief Executive Officer.

Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed assured that it is crucial for the stakeholders to cooperate and coordinate together to reach the integration of services that will consequently improve the development of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in different fields. The signing is part of the efforts dedicated to enhance the travelling experience and represent the cooperation and integration of services offered in all facilities at the airport.

The memorandum aims to facilitate the travelling procedures and reduce the time required to complete travelling transactions. The MoC, based on best international practices and aviation standards, will see the five bodies partner together to improve airport operations' efficiency, utilising key performance indicators to measure development outcomes.

Major General Staff Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, Major General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director-General of Security and Ports Affairs Sector, Jassim Mohammed Buatabh Al Zaabi, Chairman of The Department of Finance, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Airports and Hamad Al Shamsi, Member of Board of Directors of Etihad Airways, were also present during the signing ceremony.
