DUBAI, Sept 5 (Reuters) - The United Arab Emirates will grant visas on arrival to Chinese visitors in a move to boost tourism and trade, UAE prime minister and ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum said late on Sunday.

Economic slowdowns in Russia and some European countries have dampened the flow of tourists from those countries so Dubai, a global tourism hub, is keen to develop other sources of visitors.

Dubai welcomed 450,000 Chinese tourists last year, up 29 percent from the previous year. All overnight visitors to the emirate totalled 14.2 million, a 7.5 percent increase.
