Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) is taking part in GITEX Technology Week 2018 to introduce services, innovations and smart applications that will meet the needs of airport users. SAA also held a variety of events and meetings to exchange expertise with executives and travel professionals.

In the presence of H.E. Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, H.E. Sheikh Faisal bin Saoud Al Qassimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority, and HE Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al-Qassimi DG of eGovernment - Sharjah Government and a number of airport officials, SAA launched the updated Sharjah Airport Application as part of its strategy to introduce initiatives that support the sustainable development of the airport’s operations and services.

Sharjah Airport Application, a significant step towards the digital transformation of the Middle East airports, will make travelers and airport users’ experiences more enjoyable by providing them with the information they need. With voice-based commands, the offline Smart Map will help passengers find their way through the Airport with ease. The app also facilitates shopping at Sharjah Airport by delivering information about the best offers and promotions, allows people to access emergency and medical services and includes a feature that lets users chat and receive instant assistance.

SAA also introduced a ‘Smart Robot’ that can process and finalize travel procedure quickly and easily during peak hours. SAA also launched other e-services and smart applications designed to make travelling through the airport a memorable experience.

SAA is keen to employ the latest technologies in order to improve systems and flow with the aim of accommodating more than 11 million travelers per year.
