A groom was recently arrested in Ras Al Khaimah for holding a wedding celebration, ignoring all safety measures, police said on Monday.

The Asian man has posted videos of his wedding on social media, showing how he and his guests violated the protocols put in place to fight the spread of the virus, the authorities said.

The gathering was held at a wedding hall in the emirate, the General Headquarters of the Ras Al Khaimah Police has learnt.

The Ras Al Khaimah Police reiterated the warning that strict legal action shall be taken against anyone who will be caught violating anti-Covid measures.

Authorities across the UAE have been cracking down on those flouting the rules, as the country recently recorded over 1,000 new Covid-19 cases in a single day, its highest daily count since the pandemic began.
