Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said that it has resumed Dubai Tram, intercity bus, marine transport (Ferry, water taxi, abras both traditional and air-conditioned), and shared transport service on May 13.

Proactive and preventive health measures will remain enforced including physical distancing, especially aboard public transport means and in stations. Commuters are obliged to wear masks to ensure maximum protection of both riders and operators.

The service hours of the Dubai Tram will be corresponding to the metro service hours i.e. from 07:00 am to 11:00 pm, from Saturday to Thursday, and from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm on Friday. RTA will deploy six tram trains to serve 11 stations at a service frequency of 8 minutes.

RTA will resume regular service of seven marine transit lines from 08:30 am to 09:00 pm except for the marine services in Dubai Water Canal, the Ferry service between Al Ghubaiba Station and Sharjah Aquarium Station, and recreational marine services. RTA will resume the operation of 400 shared transport vehicles.

RTA has taken all precautionary measures to ensure the safety of drivers and riders including daily somatisation of the Tram and marine transit means, a statement said.

It has also directed operators of shared transport to comply with the precautionary measures, including continuous sanitisation, and oblige riders to wear masks and observe physical distancing, it added. – TradeArabia News Service
