AMMAN — Iraq has announced that it is looking forward to the opening of a land transport link with Jordan and Egypt to facilitate freight and passenger movement between the three countries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Understandings have been already concluded between Iraq, Egypt and Jordan for the opening of a new land transport link, according to a statement by Director General of the Iraqi government-owned Passenger and Delegations Transport Company, Karim Kazem Hussein.

Iraqi MP Talal Zobai said that the three countries should seek closer economic and transport cooperation, referring to the importance of an August summit that brought together His Majesty King Abdullah, the Egyptian president and the Iraqi prime minister in Amman.
