Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC), the principal off-taker for water and wastewater projects in Saudi Arabia, is expected to issue the Request for Proposals tender for its Riyadh-Qassim Independent Water Transmission Pipeline (IWTP) project in the first quarter of 2022. 

“SWPC had invited expressions of interest on 13 September 2021 with a submission deadline of 31 October 2021. The tender for proposals is expected to be floated by February 2022,” the source told Zawya Projects. 

The scope of work involves development of a potable water transmission line from Riyadh to Qassim with a capacity of 685,000 cubic meters per day, and a length of 1,392 kilometres on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis, according to SWPC’s website. 

Synergy Consulting is the financial advisor; Fichtner is the Technical Adviser and Amer Al Amr Law Firm is the legal advisor for the project. 

The estimated cost of the project is $200 million, the source said, adding the project is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2025.
