• THE TWO SCHOOLS WILL APPLY AN E-LEARNING AND A BLENDED LEARNING SYSTEM THAT ARE IN LINE WITH THE GOVERNMENT’S STRATEGY

In Cairo, Orascom Development Egypt, the developer of O West, signed an agreement with Dr. Nermien Ismail Schools (NIS) to establish two added international schools in O West. One school will apply the American education system; while the other will apply the British system IB/IGCSE. An expected investment cost exceeding EGP 500 million will be injected into the project. The inauguration of the two schools is scheduled for September, 2022—a year before the delivery of the first unit in O West.

This agreement aims to enrich and improve the educational hub in O West. Orascom Development is focused on diversifying schools in terms of different international educational systems to meet the varied needs of O West’s customers. This partnership with NIS schools is attributed to their 20+ years of academic excellence and international recognition. As an institution, they have garnered much praise and accolades for their commitment to excellence and their provision of state-of-the-arts educational services at all levels in their 6 different campuses across Egypt.

Today, the e-learning system operated by NIS schools is considered an integral part of the educational system. Additionally, NIS schools apply the Blended Learning system and are a proud member of the Blended Learning Universe of international schools (BLU). The NIS approach to education is built on integrating the e-learning system with the traditional educational system. This both reduces the density in classes and increases the number of students who achieve the best results. Students at NIS schools are guided with best practice approaches and modern learning theories. They are empowered to make effective use of the search technology and the advanced content data.  http://niseg.com/website/nis-blu-school/

In 2016/2017, NIS began to fully incorporate the flipped classroom model into its Online Education Platform. This is a model that uses digital technology and the Internet in a way that allows the instructor to teach the lesson to students in the form of video, audio, and other media so that the lesson can be learned at home or elsewhere. Data trends of this model indicate a consistent climb in student achievement as measured by external standardized tests.

The platform has been hailed as a groundbreaking, state-of-the-art system by the Cognia Accrediting body and many other educational experts. It effectively incorporates e-learning with interaction, reporting, and assessment guidance in one, user-friendly package.

NIS schools in O West will accommodate approximately 2,400 students, as each school includes classrooms; in addition to laboratories, libraries, performing arts rooms, swimming pools, sporting facilities and other different activity classes to ensure the well-rounded quality of the provided education.

Eng. Abdelhamid AbouYoussef, CEO of Orascom Development Egypt, stated that, "For more than thirty years, Orascom Development has been focused on establishing integrated towns characterized by the balanced lifestyle that is in tune with the surrounding environment. Our cooperation agreement with Nermien Ismail Schools is a solid addition to the educational hub of O West and a complement to our vision of providing Egyptian students with unparalleled educational services. And with NIS’s new and different concept that achieves a significant change in the concept of an integrated life, especially during this coronavirus crisis and the emergence of the importance of E-learning which has a very essential role in our children's lives, our vision can now be achieved. What sets NIS schools apart is that they have a great experience in this field.”

Dr. Mohamed Latif, founder and CEO of Advanced Education commented, “The NIS community has continually been lauded for its practice of placing students at the center of their decision-making. In the aftermath of Covid-19, e-learning and Blended Learning are no longer an option, but rather they are a categorical imperative in the field of education, worldwide.” He added, “I’m both humbled and proud that our distinguished and reputable colleagues at Orascom Development share our enthusiasm about this next frontier.”

Advanced Education Co. will exclusively manage and operate the NIS schools as the company provides administrative services to 9 schools that include about 9,000 students, at all different educational levels.
