VOX Cinemas to open in Riyadhs Roof Mall

RIYADH — Majid Al-Futtaim Cinemas, the dedicated cinema arm of leading retailer and leisure pioneer Majid Al-Futtaim, on Tuesday announced its latest location at The Roof Mall, a new shopping center in Riyadh’s Ayasmin district.

The cinema is scheduled to open by the end of January 2019.

The mall is owned and operated by Almutlaq Real Estate Company (AREIC), a privately held investment entity and master developer with properties throughout the Kingdom.

The Roof Mall is situated in one of the most prestigious areas in Riyadh and fittingly this venue will combine the finest entertainment with a wide range of food and beverage options. VOX Cinemas’ multiplex will include a specialty Nutella bar, VOX Café which offers a variety of coffees, juices and grab-and-go bites, Pizza Al Taglio and the familiar Candy Bar.

Apart from facilities that include a dedicated entrance and valet parking, the venue will seat 553 people and feature eight screens that offer signature luxury and family-friendly concepts including KIDS, a new VIP cinema concept, and standard screens.

Mohamed Al-Hashemi, country manager KSA at Majid Al-Futtaim Ventures, said: “We’re eager to strengthen our relationships with leading master developers as we continue to introduce our highly acclaimed offering to new corners of the Kingdom. With cinema and entertainment being one of the fastest growing sectors locally, we are confident that this project with AREIC is one of many milestones along our journey to bring diverse entertainment and leisure options to a new generation of Saudi movie goers.”

On the occasion of signing the new agreement, AREIC Chief Executive Officer Abdulrahman Abaalkhail said: “From this agreement, we will contribute to the development of the entertainment sector in the Kingdom, in line with the 2030 vision, and to provide new job opportunities for Saudi youth.”

He concluded: “Having Majid Al-Futtaim as a strategic partner adds substantial value to the AREIC portfolio and we are looking forward to further projects across Saudi Arabia.”
