ArabFinance: UK airline easyJet will operate weekly flights to the international airports of Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh starting September, Ahram Gate cited the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority Ashraf Noweir.

This is an effective indicator of air traffic resumption and regular operating in Egypt with the European countries, Noweir said.

easyJet will operate weekly flights on Tuesdays, Sundays, and Wednesdays to Sharm el Sheikh International Airport, the chairman added.

The British airline will also operate four weekly trips on Mondays, Wednesday, Thursdays, and Saturdays to Hurghada International Airport as of September 2nd.

Noweir noted that this move comes as part of the authority’s efforts to attract tourism back to Egypt, in line with the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide.

Airports across the Arab republic reopened last July after a three-month shutdown.
