Riyadh – The Saudi General Directorate of Passports (GDP) has reiterated the importance of renewing residents identity cards at least three days prior to their expiration date.

Foreign residents in Saudi Arabia could face penalties if they fail to renew their cards on time, according to a statement on Monday.

The first penalty is a SAR 500 fine, which is doubles at the second time to SAR 1,000, while after the third time, the resident is not allowed into the kingdom anymore.
