Manama: Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) certificates accredited by Saudi Arabia’s health ministry within 72 hours after undergoing Covid-19 tests will be valid for entry to Bahrain, Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa said.

He said the measure aims to welcome travellers coming to Bahrain through King Fahad Causeway and to facilitate their procedures, adding that no other health procedure would be applied.

The minister pointed out that work is going on with Saudi authorities concerned to get the results electronically to facilitate the entry of visitors.

Meanwhile, 18 cabins have been allocated to the Health Ministry to oversee laboratory tests for passengers. Nearly 150 travellers were tested on the first day of opening the causeway and in the morning the next day, reports our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.
