Muscat: More than 4,000 electronic cigarettes, which are prohibited from being circulated in the Sultanate have been seized by the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA).

The authority said: "Pursuant to Resolution No. (698/2015) regarding the ban on the circulation of electronic cigarettes and hookahs, the CPA represented by the authority's General Court in the Governorate of Muscat seized more than 4,300 electronic cigarettes."

"This comes within the framework of the efforts made by the authority to follow up on the markets in various governorates of the Sultanate to monitor suppliers and prevent harm caused by the spread of unauthorised and unhealthy commodities," CPA added.
