UAE - The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi has issued a decision to exempt businesses from fines incurred for violations of Law No. (23) of 2005 relating to health insurance in Abu Dhabi.

This is applicable to those who have been issued fines for these violations.

The health insurance law states that the employer or sponsor must ensure the availability of a minimum level of healthcare for those under their sponsorship. Businesses must ensure these requirements are met before October 1, 2020 to be exempted from fines.

The exemption from these fines also applies to businesses in Abu Dhabi whose licences have been revoked before July 22, 2020 and are no longer carrying out commercial activities.
