Riyadh –  Around 20,000 to 30,000 persons are expected to join the Saudi flexible work system during the upcoming months, deputy minister of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development for Saudisation, Ghazi Al Shahrani, told CNBC Arabia on Thursday.

In 2021, several industries are predicted to benefit from flexible working after it succeeds to become the labour market’s main norm.

Moreover, the restaurant, recreation, retail, and information technology sectors are expected to be the most used categories, the official said.

The new system will help institutions employ more youth during times of seasonal work and heavy workload. Social insurance for employees will be added on the pension provision only, which represents 18% of the salary.

On Wednesday, the human resources minister launched a platform for electronic notarization (e-notarization) of employment contracts.

The platform will increase the participation of the national calibres in the labour market, offer new kinds of flexible jobs for job seekers while improving their skills and expertise to eventually become full-time employees.
