Riyadh –  Saudi Arabia's Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi has signed five contracts with leading specialised national companies to cover public cleaning projects in Makkah and the Holy Shrines and related villages.

The total value of the contracts amounts to SAR 2.396 billion, while the term of the contracts is five years, Holy Makkah Municipality disclosed on its official Twitter account on Wednesday.

The projects aim to provide opportunities for 12,000 workers and drivers, in addition to offering 8,000 different equipment, as well as electronic monitoring services for waste collection and transport. They will further improve the city’s public cleaning and will achieve the highest levels of environmental sanitation.
